E-Verify is an Internet-based system that verifies whether a newly hired employee is authorized to work in the United States. We compare information from the employee’s Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, and cross reference with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records to confirm employment eligibility.
E-Verify compares:
US PASSPORT and VISA information
IMMIGRATION and NATURALIZATION records
STATE ISSUED driver’s licenses and identity document information
SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION records.
There are in fact, a total of twenty states require verifying employment eligibility for many public and private employers: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia.
We will help you automate the E-Verify process from within our Employee Onboarding solutions, helping you reduce exposure to compliance violations and penalties from improperly processed and mistakenly incomplete I-9 records. Employees complete I-9’s online when filling our their new hire packet, using Electronic Signature Verification (ESV). The result, your business can securely store completed I-9’s in the Performance EOS Employee Onboarding software.
